CCE’s Leading Edge Programme Application Form, March 2025

Thank you for your interest in CCE's Leading Edge programme 2025. We would be grateful if you could take about 10 minutes to answer the application questions below. We will contact you to confirm receipt of your application form which will then be reviewed by the programme leaders, who may then be in touch with you to discuss your application.

The Leading Edge programme 2025 will take place on the following dates:

Module 1 - Tuesday 11 March 2025 (In-person)
Module 2 - Wednesday 2 April 2025 (Online)
Module 3 - Tuesday 29 April 2025 (Online)
Module 4 - Tuesday 3 June 2025 (Online)
Module 5 - Thursday 26 June 2025 (In-person)

All in-person sessions in this programme will take place from 09:30 to 16:30. All online sessions will take place from 09:00 to 13:00.

A bursary is available where the applicant is from an organisation with a turnover of less than £500,000. If you would like to apply for the bursary please fill out the corresponding section of this application.

Once your application has been approved, we will request a deposit of £225. Please note that your place on the programme is not confirmed until this deposit has be paid. If you have any questions about the deposit process please contact us at CCE@city.ac.uk

3. The programme

As much support as possible is welcome when stepping up from being a manager to being a leader and we want to help you. The programme itself will serve you. During the five sessions we will provide key models and frameworks, and guide you in how you can implement them in your organisation. However, should you wish for further support the following enhancements are available:

1:1 Coaching
Strengthscope profiles
360˚ Feedback

1:1 Coaching
Programme Coaching has long been shown to help participants get even more from any development programme. In these 1:1 sessions you can further explore how themes pertain to your personal experiences and current leadership style, and can build more accountability in terms of putting learning into action. The sessions help to keep momentum with your learning and its application, and allow for more processing space for you to think about your own leadership in a supportive environment.

Coaching also allows for the exploration of current workplace issues and challenges that whilst connected to leadership may fall beyond the remit of the programme. Participants will be matched with the programme coach who is the most suitable for them and they will be part of that selection process. The number of sessions will be agreed dependent on the desired outcomes.

Price: £400

Included: A two hour individual coaching session with a qualified CCE coach. Additional sessions are available on request.

Strengthscope profiling

A strengths-based approach is very much in line with the ethos of the Leading Edge programme. Strengthscope is a UK-based organisation who offer a range of strengths profiling tools that can not only help develop self-awareness but also inform the plan for further, independent, leadership development. The profiles available range from a simple personal strengths profile to one that includes 360˚ feedback on how other colleagues experience your strengths.

The facilitated feedback session will support you in developing a plan to develop strengths you feel you lack, recognise and get more from the strengths you already have, and be clear about how to stop those from going into over-drive.

Price: £300

Included: The Strengscope profiling report and a one hour session with a coach to discuss and evaluate the results. Additional sessions are available on request.

360 Feedback
The Towards Outstanding Leadership 360˚ profiling tool is based on grounded and acclaimed research into Outstanding Leadership published in 2010 by The Work Foundation. It is unique in this respect and has been widely used across all sectors of the world of work. The tool was revised in 2020 incorporating the experience of having been used with thousands of participants.

The profile offers both quantitative and qualitative feedback and the facilitated feedback session with a licenced coach will ensure that it’s not only interesting, but they will work with you to identify actions for yourself from the exercise which ensure it is also useful.

The sole focus is on leadership intent and perceptions and participants find the intelligence invaluable.

Price: £500

Included: The 360° feedback report and a one and a half hour session with a coach to discuss and evaluate the results. Additional sessions are available on request.

4. Invoicing Details

As and when you are accepted onto the Leading Edge programme, you will be asked to pay a deposit of £225 in order to secure your place on the programme. Please note that your place on the programme will not be confirmed until the deposit is paid. We will then send an invoice for the balance of the fee (£720) approximately one month prior to the start of the programme.

Bursary

Bursary scheme for smaller charities
The Centre for Charity Effectiveness is keen to make the Leading Edge programme accessible to as many organisations as possible, regardless of their size. As a result, we are offering a bursary scheme which would give a maximum of six individuals from smaller charities the opportunity to apply for the programme at the reduced price of £695pp.

In order to be eligible for the bursary the applicant’s organisation must have an annual turnover of less than £500,000. The six bursary positions will be distributed on a first-come-first-served basis.
